Error catalogue
Errors use FastAPI's {"detail": …} envelope. Read the detail and apply the remedy;
do not retry every 4xx.
| Status | Meaning | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| 400 | Invalid metric, window, cursor or export mode | Use a catalog metric and the documented window/resolution limits. |
| 401 | Missing, malformed, expired or revoked key | Send X-API-Key; rotate a dead credential. |
| 403 | missing_scope | Add the named missing_scope or ask an admin to enable data access. |
| 404 | Resource absent or outside your tenant/portfolio | Check the id against /assets; cross-tenant existence is never disclosed. |
| 409 | Export is not complete | Poll the status resource until completed. |
| 410 | Export expired | Generate it again; download links last seven days. |
| 422 | Parameter shape failed validation | Correct the field named by the validation detail. |
| 429 | Quota exhausted | Honor Retry-After, then use exponential backoff with jitter. |
| 500 | Unexpected server failure | Retry idempotent GETs with backoff; provide the request id to support. |
| 503 | Data API disabled or a required service unavailable | Stop retrying rapidly and contact the tenant admin. |
